This week I started taking down the turkey shed. We have several buildings to demolish but have started with the main barn this week and will then move on to taking the other barns down throughout the year. The budget will be very tight for this project and following costings from the builders we need to find areas where we can reduce costs. Doing the demolition myself as much as possible will reduce these costs slightly, even if just a thousand or two.
Many beams and trusses of the barn are rotten so they cannot be saved, but I will try to keep the trusses and uprights that are in good condition in case they are useful for future building projects.
