After a month or two of back and forth with the lawyers with surveys and covenant agreements, we finally closed on the land purchase! We will be eternally grateful for the generous price for which we have been able to buy the land. This is the first big cost and the first financial risk of the project. We are well and truly locked in now. There is no going back.
Because the land has been purchased as a section of a larger farm area, Land Registry will take up to 18 months to update their records officially. If we were able to get planning in that time, we would need to apply to expedite this process to be able to get a mortgage.
